Edit PDF

Correct the text already written, annotate, highlight and drop in images.

Click inside a paragraph and correct it: the text goes back in the document's own font, in its own place, and the rest of the page does not move by a point. You can also write over it, box, highlight, drop in an image. Everything happens on your device. Paragraphs we cannot read back — composite fonts, scanned text — are not offered for correction rather than letting you type into the void.

Common questions

Can I edit the text in a PDF?

Yes, under the "Edit the text" tab: click inside a paragraph, correct it, and it goes back in the document's own font, in the same place. This is the engine that translates a document while keeping its layout — it reads the original font, removes the old characters and writes the new ones. Two limits, stated up front rather than after the fact: a paragraph we cannot read back is not offered, and a character missing from the document's font is refused as you type it. Whatever you do not touch comes out byte for byte.

Are my files uploaded to the internet?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: the document is opened on your device, processed there, and never sent anywhere. You can even go offline once the page has loaded.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Free and unlimited, with no account and no sign-up. This tool costs us nothing because it runs on your machine, so we have no reason to ration it.
